Overview

The Certificate III in Disability Work combines theory and practical work, teaching you the skills necessary to work with people with both physical and mental disabilities.

On completion of the course, your willingness to help others teamed with your supportive nature will help people with disabilities experience greater levels of independence and an enhanced quality of life.

Learning Approach

The Certificate III in Disability Work skillfully combines theory and practice through students attending formal training at St. Helens and completing a number of work placements.

Duration

Full time: 3 days a week for 10 weeks, 9am to 3pm (days are dependent on the availability of students). In addition, students will be required to undertake two weeks unpaid practical placement.

Part time: 2 nights a week for 28 weeks, 3 hours per night. In addition, students will be required to undertake 80 hours of unpaid practical placement.

Assessment

Assessment tasks are an important part of the program. They are a combination of theoretical and practical activities.

Cost

$3990 total (including textbook and learner guide)
A deposit of $250 is required to hold a place in the course.
Alternatively course fees can be paid in installments.

Graduation

1st Payment: $250 deposit to secure placement
2nd Payment: $1870 due prior to commencement of first class.
3rd Payment: $1870 due in week 3.

*Commencement of course is subject to having a sufficient number of students.
